Virginie is Switzerland’s high-flyer on the Völkl Freeski Team.
The 28-year-old can boast numerous titles to her name, including halfpipe World Champion, overall halfpipe World Cup winner, European Open champion in both halfpipe and slopestyle, and many many more. This season she even hosted the world’s first ever girls only freeski invitational, the Nine Queens.
Following the unwritten Swiss rule, Virginie had pretty early contact with winter sports. Her parents taught the little Virginie skiing in the vast area of the Portes Du Soleil ski resort when she was only two years old. They supported her ski racing ambitions for ten years and still kept supporting her, when Virginie started park, pipe and her favourite, backcountry skiing. The biggest influence on her riding, and on her whole character as well, is her father. Considering Virginie’s great freestyle skills, he might not even be worried about his cute daughter’s favourite pastime in the summer. When Virginie is without skis under her feet, the all-rounder is a keen downhill mountain biker!
