Thomas Hlawitschka

I grew up in Garmisch- Partenkirchen, where i´ve been alpine racing until the age of 15. That´s where I met my housemate Tobi Reindl, together we stopped racing, started free skiing, finished school, moved to Innsbruck, started our own project with Paddy Graham and Bene Mayr (“Legs of Steel”) and keep on go skiing/ Party together.

Besides skiing I study sports science and I would like to keep working in freeski business later, too. As there are not too many good parks in europe, it´s hard to keep up at international competitions, but as we (europeans) have great & big mountains I find it much more interesting and challenging to go out shooting in backcountry. You have to organize a lot, check weather/ avalanche reports, find spots on the mountain AND get your trick ON POINT!

Check out our website on www.legsofsteel.eu, with news, movies and the webisode. The next years movie “nothing else matters” drops in autumn.

What Marker bindings do you use? And where do you mount them?

Marker Jester and Duke. Great bindings, hold on very good and do not forget to release when it comes to a slam. Definitely best binding out there!

What DIN do you have your bindings on?

Park 12, BC 14, Spring time park 9. But remember we´ve got “Legs of Steel”.
