Patrick Hollaus

My name is Patrick Hollaus, I am born in a small village called Mittersill, surrounded by the mountains of Salzburg.  I started skiing before I was able to walk,- that´s pretty normal in Austria, as normal as it is in Austria to start as a racer.

At the age of 15 I was sick of wearing super tight racing suits and the training under pressure so I decided to switch to FREEskiing. First time I paid attention on freeskiing after I read the skiing magazine. For sure,- freeskiing was my hobby and after I finished school I had to choose a way to continue life. I decided to get a carpenter. As I finished my apprenticeship I determined to stop working and focus on freeskiing. After a good season I got some sponsors, so that my reserve assets brought me through the summer as well. I increased my skiing and my knowledge about the szene and I try my best to improve my skiing every year. Last season I had an accident in Saalbach and damaged my knee so I was 8 month off the slopes and in rehab. This time was looong and saaad but actually now I know what it´s worth beeing back on skies. It´s amazing, It´s my passion!
