Walter Scott Wood was born in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado between large snow flakes during a blizzard. Learning to ski at the age of three he quickly developed a love for the outdoors.His parents both being ski patrollers took Walter along to explore the mountains. After free skiing for years under the supervision of the local ski patrollers he started competing in Freestyle Mogul, Aerial and Big Mountain events. Quickly his parents noticed Walter had a gift and passion not only for skiing the backcountry and moguls, but also found him more in the air than in the mogul field. By the age of 13, Walter was a dedicated athlete with a dream and self guided path of becoming a professional skier. He attended public high school, trained on weekends and managed his time between schoolwork, training, travelling and graduating one year early at the age of 17.

By the young age of 16, Walter competed in his first X- Games and stood on the podium with the only American flag at the first World Cup Halfpipe competition on US soil. He was invited with the best in the world to compete in the first Inaugral European X-Games and is a favorite among fans both in the U.S. and abroad. With his natural talent, outgoing personality and dedication to the sport of skiing, it is without a doubt Walter’s success is only a brief preview of what his future holds. A boy born between the snowflakes is ready to take on the blizzard.
